The Bucana Bridge spans the Davao River and serves as a key crossing connecting the east and west banks of Davao City. It is also a critical control project for the completion of the Davao City Coastal Road.

(1)Design and Scale: The Bucana Bridge Project features a four (4)-lane, six (6)-span double-plane extradosed bridge stretching 480.20 meters across the Davao River. The total project length reaches 1,340 meters when including the approach roads.

(4)Investment and Modality: The project cost is approximately 3.126 billion Philippine pesos (about USD 53.8 million). It is a grant aid project under China's Official Development Assistance (ODA) .
(5)Contractor and Progress: The bridge was constructed by China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) . The project commenced in late 2023 and was opened to traffic by the end of 2025.

The most direct significance of the Bucana Bridge lies in its fundamental transformation of the transportation pattern between the east and west banks of Davao City. According to Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. during his inspection visit in December 2025, after the bridge opens to traffic, the previous travel time of nearly two hours will be drastically reduced to just 20–25 minutes.
