As Singapore's 7th fully-automatic MRT line, the Jurong Region Line (JRL) stretches 24 km and is predominantly composed of elevated viaducts. Short-line match-cast precast segmental box girder assembly is widely adopted for this key rail transit project under the Land Transport Authority (LTA) of Singapore.

Shandong Boyoun Heavy Industry supplied full-set custom-built steel formwork systems for multiple JRL contract packages including J103, J107, J109, J110, J115 and J120. The scope covers long-line precast segment mould, short-line precast segment mould, Stitching mold, Parapet mould & cable trough mold and cast-in-situ girder formwork. Our products support both precast yard beam fabrication and on-site cast-in-situ construction, contributing to the elevated rail transit development in western Singapore.

(1) J103: Long-line precast segment mould 

Designed for long-line bench precasting of large-span segmental box girders, compatible with curved and variable-depth segments. Hydraulic opening-closing mechanism ensures geometric matching accuracy among segments of a full span.

(2) J107: Parapet mould & cable trough mold Steel formwork 

 Integral forming for metro viaduct crash barriers and cable troughs. Component dimensional tolerances strictly comply with LTA specifications.

(3) J109: Stitching mold 

Dedicated formwork for high-altitude in-situ stitch joints between erected girder segments. Features easy assembly and disassembly plus anti-leakage performance, suitable for confined working space on viaducts.

(4) J110 / J115: Short-line precast segment mould

Short-line match-cast system equipped with fixed end-form and match-segment positioning system. The base form trolley enables translation, fine-tuning and rotation. It allows mass production of segments with varied curvatures and lengths within limited precast yard space. High precision is guaranteed for shear keys and matching surfaces to meet requirements for subsequent cantilever assembly and span-by-span erection.

(5) J120: Cast-in-situ mold  

Steel formwork for cast-in-situ box girders applied in special zones where precast erection is not feasible.

Stringent tolerance and surface finish requirements from Singapore standards LTA imposes demanding requirements on segment dimensions and concrete surface quality. Formwork detailed design and factory pre-assembly are verified item-by-item. Full sets of technical documents including English calculation reports, fabrication drawings and installation-operation-maintenance manuals are delivered for technical approval.

When the Jurong Regional Line is fully operational, the initial passenger volume is expected to be 200,000 passengers per day, and the long-term passenger volume is expected to reach 500,000 passengers per day. There will be 60,000 residential units within a ten-minute walking time of the Jurong Regional Line stations. Overall, the Jurong Regional Line helps to enhance the public transport capacity and connectivity in the western region of Singapore to support the long-term development of the western region of Singapore.
