Description

The North-South Corridor (NSC) spans 21.5 km. It is Singapore's first integrated transport corridor, connecting the East Coast Parkway (ECP) to Admiralty Road West in the north. The corridor comprises underground tunnels, at-grade roads, viaducts, dedicated bus lanes and cycling paths. The whole project is divided into 14 design-and-build contracts (N101~N115), with phased opening scheduled for 2027.

The main viaduct of Contract N112 adopts precast segmental box girders constructed via balanced cantilever erection using a launching gantry. The main viaduct stretches approximately 3.3 km with a standard dual 3-lane carriageway (6 lanes in total), making it the longest viaduct among the four major elevated sections of the NSC. The bridge superstructure adopts precast twin-cell segmental box girders erected by balanced cantilever launching gantry. This project also represents Singapore's first large-scale viaduct constructed with long-line precasting technology.

The single-width box girder measures 16.26 m wide. Standard segments are 2.5 m in length and 3.1 m in depth, with each segment weighing 105 tonnes. The alignment incorporates horizontal curves, vertical curves and variable cross-sections, imposing extremely stringent requirements on formwork alignment adjustment and dimensional accuracy.
