Description

With a total investment of approximately 10.9235 billion BDT, the project covers a main road reconstruction length of 30.4 kilometers. The original narrow 3.7-meter two-way lane is widened to 7.3 meters and upgraded into a four-lane coastal landscape arterial road. The core control structure of the project is the 305-meter Rejukhal Sea Canal Bridge. The main bridge adopts a 55m+85m+55m three-span prestressed concrete continuous beam, constructed by the cantilever casting method. Supporting works include coastal protection works, flood control retaining walls, culvert drainage systems, pavement upgrading, as well as road safety and lighting systems.

Core Applied Products: The 85m main span of the Rejukhal Bridge adopts cantilever cast-in-place construction. Boyoun Heavy Industry supplied 2 sets of diamond cantilever travelers for this project. The equipment has been delivered and officially put into on-site construction. It perfectly adapts to the cantilever pouring conditions of the 55m+85m+55m continuous beam and ensures efficient construction of the main span.

Project Highlights & Construction Difficulties: As a key coastal livelihood, cultural and tourism infrastructure project in Bangladesh, the project strictly follows ecological protection standards during construction. The route is optimized to preserve more than 3,000 original coastal trees, balancing infrastructure development and coastal ecological protection. Located in a coastal tidal zone, the site features high salinity, strong sea wind corrosion and complex soft soil foundation. It requires formwork systems with excellent corrosion resistance, weather resistance and high flatness performance to adapt to the harsh coastal working environment characterized by high humidity and frequent sand winds.

Project Value: Upon completion, the project will effectively eliminate traffic congestion on the Cox’s Bazar-Teknaf coastal highway, significantly improving traffic capacity and driving safety. It will boost the development of local tourism, agriculture and border trade. Meanwhile, the upgraded coastal protection system will strengthen regional flood and storm surge resistance and improve overall coastal disaster prevention capabilities.
