The 3rd Shitalakhya Bridge project is located in an industrial zone 5 km from Narayanganj, Bangladesh. The bridge has a total length of 1,245 m, with a continuous beam span arrangement of 53+3×98+53 m. Its maximum span reaches 98 m and the deck width is 22.15 m, designed as a 4-lane dual carriageway.

Shitalakkhya 3rd Bridge, Bangladesh
The project owner is the Roads and Highways Department under Bangladesh's Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges. Funding is sourced from the Government of Bangladesh and the Saudi Fund for Development. The main works comprise the construction of the main bridge, viaducts, river bank protection, approach roads, toll station buildings, and computerised toll collection systems for toll stations.
As a major artery connecting Dhaka and Narayanganj between the northeastern and southwestern parts of Bangladesh, upon opening to traffic, the bridge greatly shortens the land transport distance between this industrial city and the capital. It effectively eases traffic congestion from port cities to industrial parks and delivers remarkable improvements to the social and economic conditions of the region.
On 1 July 2021, the main bridge section achieved its first closure. At 02:00 local time, the placement of the final batch of concrete marked the successful mid-span closure of the right carriageway of the main bridge. The opening ceremony of the Shitalakkhya 3rd Bridge was held on 10 October 2022.

Boyoun supplied 8 sets of cantilever form travellers for this project. The high engineering quality and technical performance demonstrated during construction showcase the strength of Chinese infrastructure construction, and boost friendly cooperation between China and Bangladesh. This bridge serves not only as a lifeline for local livelihood and economy, but also a bridge of friendship linking China and Bangladesh.
